The development of the Supported Employment Fidelity Scale is described by Bond, Becker, Drake, and Vogler in an article that was published in 1997. The Scale contains 15-items, which may be used by program staff or administered by others outside the program. In the latter case, it requires a one-hour interview with the program director of an employment program. If not used as a self-study, other data sources such as through interviewing staff, observing treatment team meetings, and vocational supervision, sampling clinical charts, and observing employment specialists in action are recommended. Data indicates that the Supported Employment (SE) Fidelity Fidelity Scale measures evidence-based practice. Dr. Gary Bond joins us in this lesson to provide an excellent overview of how this scale was developed and suggests uses for the scale.

You will find the SE Fidelity Scale posted in our course as a microsoft word file that you may download. The Scale has three categories to include questions to evaluate staffing, organization, and services. In addition, there is an interview protocol that provides implementation questions. Or, you may review the scale by following the above links. For further information about the SE Fidelity Scale or for comments, please contact
