Perspectives
Carolyn Cahill

I am employed as a Research Assistant at the Rehabilitation Research and
Training Center on Workplace Supports at Virginia Commonwealth
University. Our Center provides support for transition to the world of
work for individuals with physical, sensory, cognitive, and emotional
disabilities. I am involved in a number of projects that deal with the
issues and barriers that individuals with disabilities face when seeking
employment.

I am currently a member of the deaf and hard of hearing clubs in
Commonwealth of Virginia. I also had the opportunity to serve a Peer
Counselor in the Youth Leadership Forum with Virginia Board for People
with Disabilities in July, 2000 and participate in a number of other
activities related to serving the disabled.
