Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor
April Lynch earned her B.S. in Psychology from VCU in 2011 and is currently working towards her Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling with hopes to become a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. April began employment at VCU RRTC in June 2013 as a part-time community Employment Specialist while working as a Team Leader at the Faison School for Autism training specifically in Applied Behavioral Analysis. April transitioned into full time employment at the RRTC continuing with a community caseload as well as becoming the Employment Specialist for the Project SEARCH Site at Memorial Regional Medical Center. April passionately strives for retention and stability in employment for individuals with disabilities as well as implementing community supports and utilizing counseling techniques to promote therapeutic alliances with all of her customers. During the third year of the MRMC site, April became the Lead Employment Specialist and took an increased interest in job development. April spends most of her time at MRMC training interns and staff or out in the community creating partnerships and placing SEARCH alumni.
