Who We Are 
Established in 1983, VCU-RRTC has grown into one of the largest Research and Training Centers in the United States. We serve as a Center of national excellence, providing resources for professionals, individuals with disabilities, and their representatives. For over 26 years, we have been at the forefront of the supported employment and workplace supports movements. Our team of nationally and internationally renowned researchers is committed to developing and advancing evidence-based practices to increase the hiring and retention for individuals with disabilities. Here are just a few examples of our current research activities: VCU-RRTC on Workplace Supports works in partnership with businesses across the U.S. and internationally to provide research and training support related to employment for individuals with disabilities. Students with autism learn work skills
High school senior Ann Marie Chevalier quickly folds baby blankets in the mother-infant unit at St. Mary's Hospital -- and then moves on to her next task.

PROJECT SEARCH Celebration
On Feb 26, 2010, there will be a celebration of the implementation of Project SEARCH at the VCU Medical Center. The celebration will recognize the efforts of all parties involved to successfully implement a program to teach students with significant disabilities job skills for competitive employment. The celebration will include words of welcome from top representatives from the VCU Medical Center, Richmond Public Schools, Virginia Department of Education, DRS, and the VCU-RRTC. Student participants will present certificates of recognition to several hospital department representatives attending the celebration.
