Janice Curtis works at Bank of America and is a member of Virginia Commonwealth's Business Roundtable. The Roundtable is a forum for identifying and addressing factors that inhibit industries from employing workers with disabilities.

Read below or view the video of Janice Curtis' response to the following question asked during the first roundtable meeting, "What are some of the benefits to Bank of America as they accommodate workers with disabilities?"

Janice Curtis --
"One of the things that we've seen consistently at Bank of America over the years that we've been accommodating people with disabilities is the increased productivity level within the department when a person with a disability comes into that area.

It's really hard for someone who has a hard time getting into work and to work everyday and then to have a co-worker sit beside them and (the co-worker) not be productive. So what we've found is that really increased our production level. We've also noticed that with the setting aside of money for managers to utilize when they come into the workplace for people with accommodations and they don't have to make that come out of their cost center, we've seen an increase in being able to employ people that way."
