Harold began looking for a job in the summer of 1994. He was in need of a full time position so he could help out with paying the bills at his home. Since he had some janitorial experience and enjoyed working in restaurants, he thought he might enjoy working as a dishwasher. With the help of a local supported employment agency, Harold identified a dishwashing position at Yesterday's Restaurant. Harold interviewed for the position with the restaurant owner, Robert Marshall, and accepted the job. July will mark his 5 year anniversary with Yesterdays. Harold has many responsibilities other than washing dishes.
He sweeps and mops the floors, puts away stock, helps the waitresses clean off tables, and as Harold puts it "keeps the restaurant looking nice." Harold feels like the restaurant staff is part of his family. They keep him laughing and involve him in many functions away from the restaurant. There was a time when he did not know if he would ever find a job. Harold is thankful that Robert Marshall gave him the opportunity to prove his abilities.
