AudreyAfter being unemployed for two years following a traumatic brain injury and visual impairment, Luther was hired by Pizza Hut in Richmond, Virginia. Prior to his injury, Luther worked in the restaurant industry. He enjoyed meeting new people and the fast paced environment of the restaurant industry. In November of 1996, Luther was hired by Pizza Hut to fold pizza boxes and attach coupons and promotional information to the tops of the boxes. Luther is still employed at the same Pizza Hut and his supervisor reports that he is one his most dedicated and productive employees.

Luther states that everyone he works with "is real nice." He says that he "wouldn't give up his job for anything." Luther commented that it was hard after his injury to find a job. He suggested that other individuals with disabilities "should not give up." They should "believe in themselves and the prospective employers will see that you are motivated and hard working."
