Millie

Millie Hewett is a District Manager for Manpower, Inc., and she is a member of Virginia Commonwealth's Business Roundtable. The Roundtable is a forum for identifying and addressing factors that inhibit industries from employing workers with disabilities.

Listen or read Millie's comments on hiring people with disabilities.

"One of the biggest benefits is the transition into full-time employment. Forty percent of the workers that come to Manpower will end up with permanent jobs. And that statistic is also true for people with disabilities. They get hired at the same rate permanently as a person who's not impaired. The other thing is....we do job assessments, essential skill function matches, we look at their basic interests, talents, and also we have additional training, whether it be soft training or hard skills training that we can give the worker to prepare them in the workplace." -- Millie Hewett
