Rudy is employed by Borders Books and Music. He is a cashier for the afternoon rush, 11 - 3. Rudy has a spinal cord injury and he cannot use his fingers. Borders already had a workstation that was low enough for Rudy to use with his wheelchair. Some simple modifications costing $27.75 were implemented to help him do his job.

Please read or view Rudy's thoughts about his job.

Rudy --
"I came into Borders and had an interview with them, and they hired me. I like the work very well. Everybody seems to pitch in and help you. I get along fine with all the employees. The supervisors
, all of them are okay. They're great. They help you anyway they can. They understand your transportation may not be on time. They understand problems with that and work with you all they can. I really enjoy it. It makes you feel more independent."
