Telework as an Accommodation for Employees with Disabilities

This three-year project is developing research models to predict successful entry or reentry into employment using telework options. The models include: (1) functional, demographic, and experiential characteristics of participants; (2) telework options, such as telecenters, home-based work, and combinations of home- and office-based duties; (3) types of work performed, such as telephone or on-line technical support, telemarketing, remote data entry, writing, reservations, etc.; (4) support and training provided by the employer and public and private agencies; and (5) monetary factors such as earnings and fringe benefits.
