Hello. My name is Jennifer
Todd McDonough and I would like to spend some time talking with you about Social
Security benefits.
The Social Security Administration is a federal agency that administers 2 benefit
programs for people with disabilities known as Supplemental Security Income
and Social Security Disability Income.
Supplemental Security Income is also known as SSI or Title 16.
Social Security Disability Insurance is also referred to as SSDI or Title 2.
It is important that you understand the difference in these 2 programs so that you can provide accurate information to the individuals you are working with however, we could easily spend 2 weeks discussing all of the rules and regulations of the programs. So instead of torturing you with all of that information, I hope to provide you with the basic or top layer of information that you need.
What I would like for us to do is look at Social Security Disability Insurance or SSDI and Supplemental Security Income or SSI separately and then take a look at the work incentives that are available to beneficiaries and recipients of these 2 programs.
