by Goodall, P., Lawyer, H., & Wehman, P.

Available formats:    PDF

Review of key federal laws that play an important role in vocational rehabilitation for persons with traumatic brain injuries (TBI). These include the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA, Public Law 101-476), Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Applied Technology Act (Public Law 101-392), Technology-Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities Act of 1988 (Public Law 100-407), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA, Public Law 101-336), and Rehabilitation Act Amendments of 1992 (Public Law 102-569). The discussion focuses on the Title I Vocational Rehabilitation Program under the Rehabilitation Act Amendments of 1992 and the provisions concerning rehabilitation technology and supported employment services. Issues concerning long term support services, funding, future research directions, and public policy development also are discussed.

Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation, 9(2), p. 61-81. 1994.
