    Guiding Customers through the Community

History of the Program
The mentor training program was developed as a part of the Rehabilitation Research & Training Center (RRTC) on Workplace Supports and the Medical College of Virginia through the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Model Systems Project.

Becoming a Peer Mentor
Mentors with spinal cord injury from around the state are being identified and trained to support individuals with SCI to find practical solutions.

Spotlight on Mentors
You are about to meet a group of individuals who have not only learned to adapt to their spinal cord injury (SCI) but who are now volunteering their time to assist others.

If you are a person with a spinal cord injury and have learned some tricks of the trade in living a productive life in the community, maybe you should become a Peer Mentor. If you really want to make a difference in someone’s life, get involved with the MCV Model System Peer Mentor Project.
