This session will further elaborate on concepts highlighted during the Private Sector Employment General Session. It will focus on three key issues:

  • Major precepts in building & maintaining partnerships;
  • What employers need or want from VR;
  • How VR systems respond to specific employer needs.

In segment1, there will be a review of the most significant precepts employers have identified as critical in both the development and maintenance of VR partnerships with them. This segment will include highlights from the IRI document on developing and maintaining employer partnerships, with specific emphasis on the chapter written by business and industry for VR staff.

Segment 2 of this session will feature employer(s) presenting their perspective on their needs and expectations of VR partners in the early stages of a working relationship and throughout that ongoing partnership.

Finally, the third segment will focus on how VR systems can best respond to specific employer needs and expectations. It will address the question: “When it works, what does an effective partnership between VR and employers look like?”

A question and answer component will be built into the session to allow time for interaction between panelist and the audience to share effective strategies in their respective agencies.
